"I Want You To" - Jem The best thing about being inspired is that it sometimes can come from nowhere and suddenly, it pulls you in and says, "Hey you, pay attention to me!" So while I was sipping my Earl Grey Latte on a warm Tuesday evening, this song popped up. I wanted to search for this before it stopped playing, but I was with a friend and didn't want to be rude so I quickly typed in "I want you to love me" (one of the most generic lyrics in the history of music) to see if I could find it later. Later... By the time I got home even the melody left me. Finding a song with a random set of lyrics is close to impossible and one of the most irritating things for me to do. Every love song imaginable sprang up on Google and I had absolutely no sense of direction. I wanted a starting point. Some kind of something that would remind me of it, but all I could remember was that it was upbeat by a female singer and I think it had a Spanish twist. Obviously, not...
A song pops up in my head in bed, carrying with it a memory that may not always be described in words. So the music in it of itself allows me to tell my stories. This is my writer's pen. This is my '3' and my 'M'. This is my passion in life; my blog; my light and though it may occasionally lose its shine, it will never completely leave me in the dark.
