I can't get enough of this series and even though I have it on DVD, I still find myself watching it on TV, commercials and all. I admit that I don't watch every episode over and over again. There are some more intriguing than others (usually the ones filled with drama) and I have my favorite relationships to choose from:
- Should we stay together or should we go our separate ways?
- Why do we chase the wrong guys and let the good ones slip away?
- How can we tell which ones are the good ones anyway?
- How many chances can a person get?
- Is there more to love than compatibility and being comfortable?
- Can we always have butterflies in our stomachs? And why not?
- Should we forgive and forget?
- Can we forget?
- How do we know we found the right one?
- What does the right one even mean?
- Do we only want those we can't have?
- Is that when they only want us... too?
This is what draws me into each of the four female characters. They tackle these bullet points! And though I may not be able to identify with one particular person, I can relate to all of them all at once in so many ways:
- Miranda - the cynical brain. A workaholic, good-with-money, unfashionable, direct business woman that isn't afraid to speak her mind. She doesn't have the highest self-esteem nor does she see herself as sexy, but she is strong, independent and knows how to take charge.
- Charlotte - the preppy princess. A sweet, charming girlie-girl nerd that loves to believe in fairytale endings and soul mates. A neat and tidy clean-freak with traditional values and a good heart.
- Carrie - the writer & emotional drama queen. Able to share her stories by pulling from others' experiences including that of her own. Unable to learn from her mistakes, but able to identify when she makes them. She pursues her passion by taking what she desires regardless of the consequences because it's hard to say "no" to something or someone that makes you happy.
- Samantha - a sexy seductress. A powerful woman who knows what she wants and gets it every time.
This isn't about which one of them is better than the other. This is a story about all of them and what they go through. It's just good to get away and feel as though someone else is on the same boat saying, "Damn, don't let this sink on me just yet."
